Our trip to Habitat certainly had an impact! Children's written responses to today's question, "what was your favorite part of our Habitat trip?" Were thoughtfully done.
4 day friends are settling in to the routines of the day. The question is a great jumping off point for kids, and our welcome circle is increasingly warm and friendly-including eye contact, smiles, waves and verbal greetings!
We've added the calendar to our Morning Meeting, and we prepared "kid-made" weather cards to track the weather, and to inform our "gearing up" as Indian summer fades.
A reading of It Looked Like Spilt Milk prompted lots ideas about pictures seen in the clouds. Alas, today's sky was completely blue . . .
Ask your 4 day friend if s/he saw the hawk dining in the trees at the playground. It was quite something!
Please include a backpack in the school prep pile. Water bottles, jackets/sweaters needed in cooler morning hours, but discarded in midday temps are harder to juggle in hands than packs.
